Report: Chelsea close in on Diego Costa deal

Chelsea are reportedly close to clinching the £35m signing of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.

The Spanish international has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, and a deal is on the verge being complete, according to Goal.com.

Representatives of Chelsea are said to have held a series of meetings with Costa's camp recently, with further talks planned for later this month when the two clubs meet in the Champions League semi-finals.

The same report suggests that the Blues are willing to pay £35m for the striker, while also tripling Costa's £50,000-a-week wages.
