Real Madrid are among a number of clubs who are ready to rival Chelsea for Barcelona youngster Xavier Mbuyamba, according to the defender's agent.

Real Madrid are allegedly keen to secure a deal for Barcelona defender Xavier Mbuyamba during the next transfer window.

With the 18-year-old seemingly available on a free transfer later in 2020, Chelsea have been heavily linked with an approach for the Dutchman.

However, while representative Carlos Barros has talked up the interest from the Blues, it is claimed that the centre-back also has admirers in Real, Juventus and Inter Milan.

Barros told VI: "Almost all major clubs in Europe have asked about Xavier. Real Madrid is also there, they are serious about their education, but that would of course be a sensitive switch. Juventus and Inter are interested, as are top clubs from Germany and England.

"Chelsea have the best credentials. Of course, we discussed this extensively last year. They gave a fantastic presentation.

"There is a unique football atmosphere there. During lunch you are immediately with the first-team players and the club has outlined a very ambitious plan for Xavier."

Although Mbuyamba still has three years left on his contract, Barcelona are said to have no space for the prospect in their 'B' team setup.
