Pirlo confirms Juventus interest in Giroud

Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo has hinted that he may asked club officials to make an approach for Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud.

The France international has less than six months remaining on his contract, a situation which effectively leaves the veteran open to offers in January.

While the 34-year-old is regarded as a key player by Blues boss Frank Lampard, Pirlo has suggested that the World Cup winner is on his radar.

Speaking to DAZN, the Juve boss has acknowledged that Giroud would "be handy" when revealing that he is the market for a new striker.

Giroud has contributed nine goals from six starts and nine substitute outings this season, many of which have come over the past two months.

However, the target man remained as an unused substitute as Chelsea lost 3-1 to Manchester City on Sunday evening.
