John Obi Mikel eager for Chelsea stay

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel reveals that he intends to stay at the club for at least another two years.

Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has revealed that he has no plans to leave the club this summer.

The 28-year-old Nigeria international has been linked with Al Ain and Fenerbahce.

However, Mikel is eager to stay at Stamford Bridge for at least the final two years of his current contract.

"I want to stay and the manager wants me to stay," he told the club's official website. "I've got two years here and I'm happy.

"I like to be somewhere where I have developed friends and family. It's like my family here and every day I come to work it is like coming in to see my family.

"I know all the players and all the staff so it's going to be a hard place to leave when my contract runs out but let's see what happens. I want to see out my two years."

Mikel has won 11 major honours with Chelsea since arriving in West London nine years ago.
