Chelsea forward Joao Felix - on loan from Atletico Madrid - is reportedly expected to push to stay at Stamford Bridge in the long term.

Joao Felix is reportedly keen to remain at Chelsea for the long term, rather than return to Atletico Madrid.

During the January transfer window, the Spanish giants allowed the versatile forward to make the switch to Stamford Bridge for the second half of the season.

In eight starts in the Premier League and Champions League, Felix has contributed just one goal, a close-range volley versus West Ham United on February 11.

However, the Portugal international has produced a number of impressive performances and has established himself as a key part of Graham Potter's attack.

Nevertheless, while Atletico gave Felix permission to move to the West Londoners at the turn of the year, it came without the option of a permanent transfer.

That was at the request of Atletico, courtesy of Felix still possessing a contract at Wanda Metropolitano until the end of the 2026-27 campaign.

As it stands, the 23-year-old will return to his parent club in the summer with it unclear where he will spend the next phase of his career.

According to Relevo journalist Matteo Moretto, Felix would prefer it to come in England's capital.

The report claims that Felix now feels settled in London and would like to be a part of the long-term project at Chelsea.

Co-owner Todd Boehly allegedly intends to hold discussions with his counterparts at Atletico to determine whether a permanent transfer is a realistic possibility.

Atletico will feel that they can demand in the region of £100m for Felix, particularly if they qualify for next season's Champions League and there is less pressure on them to sell a prized asset.

Much may also depend on whether Chelsea can secure European qualification with Potter's side currently sitting in 10th position in the Premier League standings.

On a positive note, however, Chelsea have won three successive matches in all competitions and have earned a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
