Chelsea's Thibaut Courtois to join Atletico Madrid on second loan stint

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will spend another season at Atletico Madrid on a temporary deal.

The 20-year-old was loaned out by the Champions League winners to the Spanish outfit last season and is expected to return to the Vicente Calderon following a successful year in La Liga.

A statement on the Europa League champions' official website said: "Thibaut Courtois will next season play at Atletico Madrid after Atletico on Wednesday reached an agreement with Chelsea on transfer for a year.

"The Belgian international goalkeeper played all of last season on loan playing in in 37 games in La Liga and 15 in the UEFA Europa League - a competition won in Bucharest on May 9."

Courtois became a starting regular for Atletico during his stint at the club, who finished fifth in La Liga.
