Chelsea 'enter race for Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic'

Chelsea have reportedly emerged as an option for in-demand Fiorentina centre-back Nikola Milenkovic.

The 23-year-old is into the final 15 months of his contract and has been strongly linked with Manchester United and Liverpool in recent weeks.

However, both sides are rumoured to have cooled their interest in the defender on the back of some shaky displays for Serbia last month.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Chelsea have no such concerns and are now firmly in the mix for Milenkovic's signature as they seek another new central defender.

The report suggests that a move to the Premier League is a priority for the former Partizan player, though Barcelona have previously been tipped to make a move.

Milenkovic has made 30 appearances for Fiorentina this term and earned his 28th international cap last week.
