Chelsea close on Mexican striker Ulises Davila

Young Mexican midfielder Ulises Davila will be confirmed as a Chelsea player this week, according to talkSPORT.

The Blues have been monitoring the 20-year-old - currently playing for C.D. Guadalajara - for the last year and have now made an offer worth £1.75m.

Work visa issues mean that Davila is unable to stay put in the UK so will be sent straight out on loan to Dutch side Vitesse for a year once the deal is finalised.

Davila found the net 11 times for the Mexican under-20 squad earlier this year.
