Chelsea transfer news: Burnley announce signing of Chelsea forward Armando Broja in another epic social media video

Burnley announce signing of Chelsea forward in another epic social media video

Burnley have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Chelsea forward Armando Broja.

When announcing the arrival of fellow Blues player Lesley Ugochukwu earlier this week, it was believed that the acquisition of Broja was imminent.

However, the Albania international allegedly took an extra 24 hours before making his final choice to make the switch to Turf Moor.

Late on Friday afternoon, Burnley - as they always do - revealed the signing in another epic social media post involving a film, this time involving a scene from the Indiana Jones franchise.

Broja is making the move to Burnley in a deal that will reportedly be worth as much as £20m if all add-ons are met.

Having signed a five-year contract, the 23-year-old said: "I am really excited to be here as a Burnley player.

“It’s a really positive time to be joining this club ahead of the start of the new Premier League season. I can’t wait to get going!”

"I’m feeling good, I’m ready and I’m excited about the challenge of playing for this club.

“I can already feel the support from the Burnley fans – I can tell you all that I will be giving my all every time I pull on the famous Claret shirt.”

Right move for all parties

There was a time when many Chelsea fans were rooting for Broja to become a success at Stamford Bridge, but a serious knee injury during the break for the 2022 World Cup set his career back.

Broja managed to reach 38 appearances for the West Londoners prior to the arrival of Enzo Maresca, but just three goals and two assists meant that he was made available for transfer last summer.

A frustrating campaign on loan at Everton ensued, Broja failing to score in 11 appearances, and it felt like he was left in limbo until Burnley made their move.

Ahead of the start of the new Premier League season, Broja is in line to compete with Zian Flemming and Lyle Foster for a starting role down the middle of the attack.
