Andre Villas-Boas plots triple January swoop

AVB plots triple January swoop

Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has identified Edinson Cavani, Mario Goetze and Joao Moutinho as his top transfer priorities, according to The Times.

The 34-year-old is expected to add to his squad following a disappointing first-half of the campaign which has seen the Blues fall nine points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City.

With Nicolas Anelka leaving the club in the New Year and Fernando Torres struggling for form, Uruguayan striker Cavani, who plays for Chelsea's Champions League last 16 opponents Napoli, is said to be Villas-Boas's primary attacking target.

Borussia Dortmund winger Mario Goetze is also on the Portuguese's wishlist as he looks to add to his wide options.

After missing out on Luka Modric in the summer, a move for midfielder Joao Moutinho, who played under Villas-Boas at Porto, would reportedly complete the Blues manager's potential January business.
