Tony Pulis: 'We needed a bit of luck'

Tony Pulis says that Crystal Palace needed just "a little bit of luck" to get a result in this afternoon's 2-1 loss at Chelsea.

Tony Pulis has said that his Crystal Palace side lacked "a little bit of luck" to take something away from the 2-1 loss at Chelsea this afternoon.

Marouane Chamakh levelled for the Eagles after Fernando Torres had put Chelsea ahead, but Ramires's 36th-minute strike proved to be the winner.

"In two away games, at Norwich and here, with a little bit of luck we could have got something out," Pulis told BBC Sport. "We're disappointed not to get a point.

"It will be our home form that will determine our season and if we show commitment we've shown today, and take our opportunities, we'll give it a good crack.

"I try to generate the spirit and commitment in the dressing that galvanises and pulls people together, and that's what we've tried to do here."

Pulis also reserved special praise for Chamakh, who scored his third goal in as many Premier League games in the loss.

"Marouane Chamakh has been excellent since I walked through the door," he said.

"His attitude and commitment has been excellent. He linked up play today and we played good football when we got it into him."

Palace are currently in 18th place in the Premier League following a run of three wins in their last six games.
