Chelsea lineup vs. Bayer Leverkusen: Predicted XI for Stamford Bridge pre-season clash as Joao Pedro set for home debut

Pedro Stamford Bridge debut: How Blues could line up for Leverkusen clash

Chelsea have been busy in the transfer market and could look to give Stamford Bridge debuts to signings such as striker Joao Pedro against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.

Boss Enzo Maresca could also be tempted to start centre-forward Liam Delap, but his system only utilises one number nine, meaning he may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Newcomer Jamie Bynoe-Gittens is an option to start on the left flank, while Pedro Neto has been a regular on the right side of attack.

Cole Palmer's place in the XI is rarely in doubt, and he will almost certainly be deployed as an attacking midfielder.

In the middle of the pitch, fans can expect to see Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo partner each other in a double pivot.

Captain Reece James can be pencilled into the starting lineup as a right-back, while Marc Cucurella is the most likely candidate to play on the opposite side.

Centre-backs Nathaniel Chalobah and Levi Colwill may feature in the heart of defence ahead of goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Sanchez; James, Chalobah, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Fernandez; Neto, Palmer, Gittens; Pedro
