John Terry: "It's a big step" towards the Premier League title

Terry: "It's a big step" towards the title

Chelsea defender John Terry feels that his side have taken a "big step" towards the Premier League title following their 0-0 draw against Arsenal.

The Blues maintained their 10-point lead at the top of the Premier League as they battled to earn a point at the Emirates Stadium.

Chelsea could also have been awarded two penalties in the match when Oscar was clattered in the area by David Ospina and Cesc Fabregas was felled by Santi Cazorla, only to be booked by Michael Oliver, but Terry believes that the referee made the right calls.

He told Sky Sports News: "It is a big step to where we want to go. It's not done mathematically but it's a big step. Listen, Arsenal are a very good side and they have world-class players but we nullified them.

"Everyone expected us to come and sit like we did against Manchester United but we gave it a go in the first half. Second half we kept the ball more. The referee got all of the decisions right I thought.

"We are almost there but we have a tough game against Leicester on Wednesday. It's in our hands."

Chelsea play Leicester City in their next outing on Wednesday at the King Power Stadium.
