Sturridge draws inspiration from Henry

Chelsea winger Daniel Sturridge has insisted that his time spent as a winger will make him a better player in the long run.

The 22-year-old has also compared himself to former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry in the way their careers have developed.

"I definitely think playing out wide will improve me. Henry played out wide for Juventus and then went to Arsenal and played as a centre-forward," Sturridge told The Mirror.

"He's an example of one player I look at and think when I get back in the middle – and it's only a matter of time – then I will be a lot better than previously."

Sturridge has scored 11 goals in 26 games for the Blues this season.
