Report: Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers on Chelsea shortlist

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is believed to be on the shortlist to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

Brendan Rodgers has reportedly emerged as a shock target to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

The Celtic manager spent four years running the youth team and then the reserves at Stamford Bridge after being lured away from Reading by Jose Mourinho.

Rodgers has impressed at Parkhead over the last two seasons, picking up four trophies and standing on the verge of a second consecutive Scottish Premiership title.

Conte, meanwhile, is believed to be on thin ice at Chelsea, with Roman Abramovich reportedly seeking to replace the Italian following a dire Premier League title defence.

According to The Express, Rodgers is on the Blues hierarchy's shortlist to take over the first-team hotseat in the summer.

However, the report acknowledges that the Northern Irishman is low down on the list of potential replacements, with former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique still the favourite to move to West London.

Rodgers previously managed Swansea City and Liverpool prior to his move north of the border.
