Kevin Pietersen: Jose Mourinho exit "terrible news"

Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen has described the end of Jose Mourinho's Chelsea tenure as "terrible news".

The board at Stamford Bridge decided to wield the axe this afternoon following a run of form that had seen the defending Premier League champions lose nine of their opening 16 games.

However, Chelsea fan Pietersen has taken to Twitter to vent his disappointment.

During his two spells in charge of Chelsea, Mourinho won eight trophies - a haul that included three Premier League titles.
