Jose Mourinho: 'Complacency will not be an issue'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is adamant that his side will not be complacent going into their Premier League clash against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has insisted that his side will have no issues with complacency ahead of their Premier League clash against Sunderland.

The Blues lead the top flight by six points from second-placed Southampton after their unbeaten start to the season, as they have dropped just four points from their 12 matches.

The Portuguese has admitted that he is taking nothing for granted at this stage of the season, especially as he prepares to face the side that inflicted their last defeat in the Premier League on the Blues in April.

Mourinho told Sky Sports News: "Complacency is not a risk we have. It's not a profile of this group in this moment. We have all the other risks. The risks that belong to football - the risk of a bad period, injuries, unlucky matches, other teams growing up and becoming stronger.

"We were winning 5-0 against Schalke and in minute 88 Eden Hazard made a sprint to defend. There was a clear evolution and I don't think the group as a group can be complacent."

Mourinho's men face Sunderland at the Stadium of Light later today.
