Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia: 'Antonio Conte will continue to deliver'

Antonio Conte is backed by Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia to achieve more "incredible success" after agreeing to stick around at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has backed boss Antonio Conte to build on his first-season success with the club after being handed a new-and-improved contract.

The former Juventus chief agreed fresh terms at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening to end the uncertainty surrounding his future, two months on from lifting the Premier League title at the first attempt.

Conte's deal will still only run until 2019, but Granovskaia is confident that there is plenty more silverware to come between now and then if the Italian's first campaign at the helm is anything to go by.

"Antonio achieved incredible success last season, adapting to English football very quickly and leading us to the Premier League title," she told the club's official website.

"This new contract reflects our belief that he can continue to deliver results both domestically and as we return to European competition in the Champions League."

Conte, who has added compatriots Paolo Vanoli and Davide Mazzotta to his coaching staff this summer, had previously won three-successive Serie A crowns with former club Juventus.
