Chelsea manager Antonio Conte pleased with "good signings"

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte says that Michy Batshuayi and N'Golo Kante are "good signings" but suggests that he wants more.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has described the arrivals of Michy Batshuayi and N'Golo Kante as "good signings", but has hinted that the club are open to adding more to the squad.

Batshuayi arrived from Marseille earlier this month for a fee in the region of £33m, while Kante moved to Stamford Bridge from Premier League champions Leicester City.

The French midfielder was highly sought-after following last season's performances, but Chelsea managed to clinch his signature by offering £32m to the Foxes.

In an interview with ESPN, Conte said: "They are good signings, sure. Batshuayi is a young player but very strong. Last season he scored 17 goals in France. Also he played the last tournament in France, the Euros.

"Also, Kante was a target for Chelsea, my target, Chelsea's target. It's important that we close these operations. Now we are waiting for the right situation to improve our team but it's important now to work very hard to try to play an attractive football with high intensity. Now it's important to work, then in the future, we'll see."

Reports have claimed that Conte wants to buy five more players before the end of the transfer window.
