Afternoon all! Sports Mole's live Premier League coverage continues from Stamford Bridge as Chelsea, who have collected six points from an available six this season, welcome newly-promoted Burnley. The Blues will fancy their chances of picking up another win this afternoon, but Burnley will enter this match off the back of a 2-0 win over Liverpool. Let's hope for an entertaining match-up from the English capital!

This afternoon will be the 93rd fixture between Chelsea and Burnley in all competitions. Incredibly, Burnley lead the head-to-head record 37 victories to 33, while the remaining 22 matches finished level. It is a rivalry that dates back to November 1905, when Chelsea recorded a 1-0 victory in League Division Two. Anyone remember that? I can tell you that a certain Robert McRoberts got the winner and no, I am not joking. What a name!

The last time that Chelsea welcomed Burnley to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League was in February 2015, when the points were shared in a 1-1 draw. Chelsea are actually unbeaten in all four of their Premier League games with Burnley and have not lost against the Clarets in the league since April 1983. That said, Burnley picked up a penalty-shootout victory in the League Cup at Stamford Bridge in November 2008.

Right, without further ado, let me bring you up-to-speed with the all-important team news from the English capital. Diego Costa could have been sent off about 11 times in Chelsea's first two league matches, but I can confirm that the Spaniard starts this afternoon. Let's run through the two XIs here...

TEAMS!

CHELSEA: Courtois; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Kante; Willian, Oscar, Matic, Hazard; Costa

BURNLEY: Heaton; Lowton, Keane, Mee, Ward; Arfield, Defour, Marney, Boyd; Vokes, Gray

The big news in the Chelsea camp is that Brazilian Willian is fit to return after sitting out the win over Watford last weekend. Willian's return has seen Pedro drop to the bench, but it is otherwise the same XI, meaning that Diego Costa will continue in the final third, with Michy Batshuayi on the bench.

As for Burnley, no surprise that Sean Dyche has recalled all of his big guns this afternoon. It is actually the same XI that beat Liverpool 2-0 last weekend, which means that summer signing Steven Defour starts in central midfield alongside Dean Marney. Sam Vokes and Andre Gray, Burnley's two scorers against Liverpool, continue their partnership in the final third of the field.

So there we have it. The two teams are in and we are now just under 30 minutes from kickoff on this warm afternoon in London. I shall discuss Burnley a little bit later, but let's start with Chelsea, who have begun life under new boss Antonio Conte with back-to-back 2-1 victories in the Premier League.

It was a disastrous 2015-16 campaign for Chelsea as the defending champions finished 10th in the Premier League, some 31 points behind the winners Leicester City. They were always going to improve this season, however, and big things are expected of new boss Conte, who has had success with Juventus and impressed while leading Italy in the European Championships.

Chelsea might have started with back-to-back wins, but they have been far from convincing. They needed a late Costa winner to record a 2-1 victory over West Ham United on August 15 and there was big controversy surrounding that match after calls for Costa to be sent off for a lunge on West Ham's Adrian. As it transpired, the striker stayed on and scored a late winner after James Collins had cancelled out a penalty from Eden Hazard. Costa is sure to take centre stage in some way this afternoon!

Chelsea also found it tough against Watford last weekend as they fell 1-0 behind in the early stages of the second period. Michy Batshuayi levelled 10 minutes from time, however, before guess who – Costa - popped up with another late winner to make it two victories from two matches. You can see the confidence returning after a very poor campaign last term and that is credit to Conte and his coaching staff.

In terms of what is ahead for the Blues, they will travel to Swansea City in their first game after the international break, before welcoming Liverpool and travelling to Arsenal towards the end of September. There is a chance for Conte's side to put 12 points on the board before the Liverpool match, but they did struggle to break down the so-called smaller teams at home last season.

As for Burnley, they opened their 2016-17 Premier League season with a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Swansea City on August 13, but they recorded a brilliant 2-0 victory over Liverpool last weekend as goals from Sam Vokes and Andre Gray secured all the points. Burnley only had 20% of the ball, but a brilliant defensive performance saw them shut out the Merseyside outfit.

Burnley were the best team in the Championship last season, only losing five of their 46 matches to finish top of the division and earn the right to compete in the Premier League once again. The Clarets have never managed to consolidate their position in England's top flight, however, and that will once again be the challenge for Dyche and his players this season. Their first Premier League campaign came in 2009, but they were relegated in 18th position and had to spend the next four seasons in the second tier.

They again rose to the Premier League in 2014, but once again finished 18th to drop into the Championship. They managed to secure an immediate return after winning the second tier last term, but it promises to be another difficult season for a club that have simply not been prepared to spend the money needed to consolidate in the top flight. For Burnley, a summer spend of £10.9m is high, but it does not compare with the teams around them. Right, kickoff is just five minutes away here!

KICKOFF! Chelsea kick things off at Stamford Bridge...

... Chelsea are feeling good about themselves after a positive start to the new season, but Burnley beat Liverpool last week and will seemingly have a go at the home side this afternoon. As expected, it is the home side that have taken control of the early possession as they move from left to right.

Chelsea work the ball into a wide position and Oscar looks to pick out a teammate inside the box, but Heaton is on hand to collect. Burnley have been allowed to settle quite well early on here.

Not too much to report in terms of chances in the early exchanges as both teams settle into the match with periods of possession. I thought that Chelsea would go after Burnley in the early moments, but that is not really the case. In fact, the visitors are enjoying plenty of the ball here.

Ivanovic has a pop from distance, but his effort was always too high of Heaton's goal.

Chelsea take the lead in the ninth minute of this match as Hazard drives to the edge of the Burnley box before brilliantly curling the ball into the far corner. Super finish from the Belgian there.

Burnley had been allowed to enjoy plenty of possession in the opening 10 minutes, but a piece of magic from Hazard has sent the Blues into a 1-0 lead and the visitors now have a tough task on their hands. As it stands, Chelsea are heading to the top of the Premier League table on nine points.

Burnley need more from Gray and Vokes in the final third at the moment as Chelsea continue to sit deep and build from a defensive position. There is no space for Gray to use his electric pace.

CHANCE! Hazard comes so close to scoring a second for Chelsea after once again passing the ball towards the bottom corner, but Mee is on the line to make the clearance!

CLOSE! Cahill just misses the post with a volley from inside the box!

Burnley cannot get out of their own half at the moment. They are being battered!

You get the feeling that a second goal for Chelsea could be curtains, even at this stage of the match. Burnley started quite well, but they are just not in this game at the moment.

Burnley have stuck to their values and are playing 4-4-2 once again this afternoon, but you sense that a change might need to occur because they are getting over-run in the middle of the park. Hazard continues to look in the mood as he drifts inside and threatens the Clarets' defence.

Burnley have had 36% of the possession so far, which is actually a lot more than they had against Liverpool last weekend! The difference is that they are just not threatening the Chelsea goal.

Not too much to report in terms of chances in the last few minutes, but Chelsea lead 1-0 courtesy of that brilliant effort from Hazard, who has now scored twice in the Premier League this season. If the Blues are to challenge for the title this term then they will need Hazard in his 2014-15 form.

Chelsea are utterly dominant and Terry rises to head towards the top corner, but Heaton is on hand to make the save. Burnley need to find a way to stem the flow of traffic at Stamford Bridge.

The Burnley supporters are in fine voice at the moment as they continue to back their team, but Chelsea are just so dominant and look capable of scoring every time that they break forward. That said, at 1-0, Burnley will always be in the match. They need more from Vokes and Gray though!

Chelsea are not really doing too much at the moment as they allow Burnley possession and sit deep attempting to threaten on the counter-attack, but the visitors have tightened up at the back.

CHANCE! Wonderful chance for Chelsea to score a second as Hazard picks out Costa inside the Burnley box, but the striker fires straight at Heaton. It really should have been 2-0 there!

Chelsea double their lead in the latter stages of the first period as Costa sets up Willian and the Brazilian takes a touch outside his full-back before drilling one across Heaton into the corner!

Half-chance for Burnley this time as the ball is worked to Arfield in a wide position, but the midfielder can only drill his effort past the far post. Much better play from the visitors there.

Burnley have actually played quite well since conceding a second, but it could well be too little too late. Still another half of football to play, but are they going to turn around a 2-0 deficit? Not for me.

Just the one minute of additional time at the end of the first period.

So there we have it. The referee brings the first period to a close with Chelsea leading 2-0 courtesy of efforts from Hazard and Willian. In truth, the home side have utterly dominated the first half of action, with Burnley struggling to make any sort of impact. It could be a long second half for the visitors!

STATISTICS! Chelsea have dominated the possession with 64%, while they hit the target with five of their 10 attempts in the first period. Burnley, meanwhile, only had one shot and that did not test Courtois. Two bookings to report, both for Chelsea - Oscar in the 31st minute and Ivanovic in the 44th minute.

BENCH WATCH! Chelsea have a number of attacking options on their bench this afternoon, with the likes of Batshuayi, Fabregas, Moses and Pedro all available for Conte. Burnley, meanwhile, have options for change in the shape of Gudmundsson, Kightly, Jutkiewicz and O'Neill.

... no changes from either side at the interval. No surprise that Chelsea have not made any alterations, but Burnley really struggled in that first period and could with some freshness.

Boyd sets up Marney outside the Chelsea box, but his effort is far too high.

Chelsea need one more goal to make absolutely sure of the three points this afternoon, but they are not really in a rush at the moment as they pass and probe in a defensive area. Nice and relaxed.

SAVE! Heaton keeps out Costa from close range as Chelsea start to go after Burnley and look for a third goal. It is panic stations at the back for the team in Claret!

Normal service seems to have been resumed in the Premier League this afternoon. Arsenal are 3-0 ahead at Watford, Leicester are beating Swansea 2-0 and Chelsea are, of course, 2-0 ahead here. Manchester United face Hull City tonight, while Manchester City welcome West Ham United tomorrow.

Keane and Mee are being put under serious pressure at the moment as Chelsea continue to deliver from wide positions. Surely only a matter of time before the third goal arrives for the Blues here.

Little under 30 minutes of football remaining at Stamford Bridge and in truth, Chelsea could be about 5-0 ahead. Burnley have not managed to put a glove on the home side this afternoon. Gray is doing his best to run the line, but the hero from the Liverpool match has not been in the game.

Gray has the chance to drive into the Chelsea box as the pitch opens up for the striker, but he runs into traffic and the home side can clear once again. Still more than 25 minutes left at Stamford Bridge.

Pass, pass, pass from Chelsea as they continue to work the ball into the Burnley box. Costa has another shooting chance inside the Burnley box, but O'Neill is across with a fine challenge.

Still no movement on the Chelsea bench, but you suspect that Conte will look to give some more minutes to Batshuayi, who has really impressed in the early stages of his career with the Blues.

Marney is currently down for Burnley receiving a bit of treatment.

Hazard delivers another dangerous cross into the Burnley box, but there are no takers and the away side survive what could have been a third goal. Chelsea are just so utterly dominant here.

Little over 15 minutes of football remaining and still no sign of movement on the Chelsea bench. Burnley have now made all three changes and there are some tired legs out there!

The only negative for Chelsea is that they have not managed to score more goals in this second period. That is fine in this match, but teams better than Burnley might have taken advantage.

CHELSEA SUB! Moses replaces Willian for the home side.

Possession football from Chelsea as they continue to pass and probe in the Burnley half of the field. The visitors are starting to press high, however, and one goal at this stage would make it very interesting!

CHELSEA SUB! Pedro and Batshuayi replace Costa and Hazard for Chelsea.

Half-chance for Burnley as Vokes strikes towards goal after the ball breaks inside the Chelsea box, but Cahill is on hand to make the block. Still 2-0 Chelsea with 84 minutes on the clock here.

Little bit sloppy from Chelsea in the last couple of moments as they waste some good positions in the final third of the field. Pedro looks intent on making a point as he weaves past the Burnley defence, but Keane and Mee have both had good second periods. Heaton has been the star though.

It did appear that Burnley would take a bit of a hiding after struggling in the first period, but they have managed to keep the score down since the break and that can be taken as a positive.

Chelsea have their third of the match in the 89th minute as Batshuayi finds Pedro with a super pass and the Spaniard's low cross is turned into the back of the net by Moses for 3-0!
