Jose Mourinho has revealed that Nemanja Matic injured his ankle while celebrating Chelsea's triumph in the League Cup on Sunday.
Matic was unable to play in the 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, but the Serbian joined his teammates on the pitch to take part in the post-match presentation.
Despite twisting his ankle in the celebrations, Mourinho insists that the midfielder will be ready to meet Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie next Wednesday.
"Matic is injured and he got an injury celebrating the Cup," Mourinho told reporters after the 1-0 victory over West Ham United.
"It's not a big injury, but if today he was not suspended, he wouldn't play.
"He twisted his ankle. On the pitch. He put on shin pads but he didn't put the tape on. He will play against Paris. On Saturday, Sunday, he will train."
Matic served the second game of a two-match suspension in Wednesday's win in the London derby.
