Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Arsenal

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's Premier League clash with Arsenal.

Fresh from booking their spot in the FA Cup final, Chelsea resume Premier League action with the visit of London rivals Arsenal to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.

The Blues ran out 2-0 winners over Crystal Palace in Sunday's encounter at Wembley, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount on target to set up a final meeting with Liverpool.

Thomas Tuchel's side are seemingly safe in third place in the Premier League table heading into the final stretch - five points clear of Tottenham Hotspur with two games in hand.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Gunners.

Mateo Kovacic

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Mateo Kovacic lasted just 26 minutes of the FA Cup semi-final with Crystal Palace before being taken off with an ankle injury, and Tuchel admitted after the game that it "did not look good", so the Croatian could now be set for a spell on the sidelines.

Ben Chilwell

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ben Chilwell remains on the long road to recovery from his serious knee injury and will not be able to take to the field again before the 2022-23 season.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: Unknown

Callum Hudson-Odoi's Achilles problem is proving more difficult to overcome than initially anticipated, and the Englishman could still spend a few more weeks on the sidelines.

Ross Barkley

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: April 20 (vs. Arsenal)

Ross Barkley was not named in the squad to face Palace after seemingly recovering from an illness, but that could very well have been a tactical decision from Tuchel.
