How Chelsea could line up against Luton

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel should ring the changes for Wednesday's FA Cup fifth-round encounter with Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

The Blues are already without long-term absentee Ben Chilwell and also witnessed Cesar Azpilicueta sustain a knock in the EFL Cup final defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Azpilicueta joins Andreas Christensen on the sidelines after an Achilles issue prevented the defender from turning out at Wembley, and Hakim Ziyech was also absent from the cup final despite returning to training.

Tuchel's decision to bring on Kepa Arrizabalaga for the penalty shootout backfired horribly, and the German coach will not want to knock the Spaniard's confidence too much, so he may be handed the gloves from the first whistle in place of Edouard Mendy this week.

Antonio Rudiger and Trevoh Chalobah are seemingly unlikely to lose their spots in defence, but the veteran Thiago Silva completed 120 minutes at Wembley and will likely make way for Malang Sarr.

Azpilicueta can rest easy in the knowledge that Callum Hudson-Odoi could fill his spot on the right as Reece James deals with muscular overload, and a new-look engine room may also see Jorginho and Saul provide some fresh legs.

Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount spurned gilt-edged chances at Wembley, and the latter could now cede his place to Werner, while Romelu Lukaku will push to displace Kai Havertz at the tip of the attack.

Chelsea possible starting lineup: Kepa; Chalobah, Rudiger, Sarr; Hudson-Odoi, Jorginho, Saul, Alonso; Pulisic, Werner; Lukaku
