Team News: Fernando Torres starts against Chelsea

Torres starts against Chelsea

Fernando Torres will start up front for Atletico Madrid tonight as they travel to his former side Chelsea in the final game of the Champions League group stages.

Diego Simeone's side arrive at Stamford Bridge needing a win and Group C rivals Roma to drop points at home to Qarabag in order to stand any chance of making the last-16 stage, with Diego Simeone making three changes to his starting XI following the 2-1 league win over Real Sociedad three days ago.

Torres is handed a start alongside Antoine Griezmann at the front of a 4-4-2 formation, with Kevin Gameiro the man to make way.

Diego Godin and Angel Correa are also demoted to the bench, with Koke, Thomas Partey, Gabi and Saul Niguez making up the midfield.

Jan Oblak retains his place in goal, while Stefan Savic and Lucas Hernandez come into the heart of the defence alongside Jose Gimenez on the right and former Blues star Filipe Luis at left-back.

As for the hosts, Antonio Conte names a strong side as he aims to secure top spot in the group, playing Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata at the front of a 3-5-2.

Davide Zappacosta and Tiemoue Bakayoko come in for Danny Drinkwater and Marcos Alonso in the middle of the park alongside N'Golo Kante, Cesc Fabregas and Victor Moses.

One other change sees skipper Gary Cahill come in on the left of Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen, while Thibaut Courtois stays put in goal.

Chelsea: Courtois; Azpilicueta, Christensen, Cahill; Moses, Bakayoko, Kante, Fabregas, Zappacosta; Hazard, Morata Subs: Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Drinkwater, Willian, Pedro, Batshuayi

Atletico Madrid: Oblak; Gimenez, Savic, Lucas Hernandez, Filipe Luis; Koke, Partey, Gabi, Niguez; Torres, Griezmann Subs: Moya, Godin, Vrsaljko, Carrasco, Correa, Vietto, Gameiro
