Chelsea team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Lille

Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Champions League last-16 second leg with Lille on Wednesday.

Chelsea will aim to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League when they face Lille in the second leg of their last-16 tie at the Stade Pierre Mauroy on Wednesday evening.

Thomas Tuchel's side arrive on the French champions' turf boasting a 2-0 lead from the first leg, with Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic on target for the Blues.

Havertz was also the hero of the hour for the Champions League holders in the weekend's Premier League action, with his strike sinking an inspired Newcastle United 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Chelsea's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the second leg.

Ben Chilwell

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ben Chilwell continues to recover from surgery on his severe knee injury and is not expected to return to first-team action before the campaign concludes.

Reece James

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: March 16 (vs. Lille)

Reece James picked up another muscular issue during the 4-0 thumping of Burnley earlier this month, and Tuchel has admitted that the right-back's chances of coming back in midweek are slim.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Illness
Possible return date: March 16 (vs. Lille)

Cesar Azpilicueta missed the win over Newcastle at the weekend due to illness, but the Spanish defender will likely recover in time for the second leg.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Achilles
Possible return date: March 16 (vs. Lille)

Callum Hudson-Odoi was not fit to take part against the Magpies due to a reported Achilles issue, and the starlet is facing a race against time to be fit for Wednesday's game.

CHELSEA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Chelsea have no players suspended for this game, although Ruben Loftus-Cheek will miss the first leg of the quarter-final - should Chelsea qualify - if he is booked on Wednesday.
