Robert Tesche's 25-yard volley gives Nottingham Forest a point against Charlton

Robert Tesche's second-half volley earns Nottingham Forest a Championship point against Charlton Athletic, who led at the City Ground through Callum Harriott.

Substitute Robert Tesche scored a second-half volley to give Nottingham Forest a point against Charlton Athletic at the City Ground.

Charlton took the lead after nine minutes when Callum Harriott fired home a Jordan Cousins pass into the bottom corner from the outside the box.

The hosts could have hit back immediately, but Michail Antonio blazed the ball over the bar after finding space inside the Addicks penalty area.

Charlton then lost captain,Johnnie Jackson to injury after 16 minutes, as he was replaced by Lawrie Wilson.

However, that did not disrupt the visitors, who almost scored a second shortly before half time as Francois Coquelin danced down the wing and crossed for Igor Vetekoli, but his header was palmed away by Karl Darlow.

After the break, Forest upped their tempo and started to create chances, with Antonio and Tom Ince at the heart of their attacking play.

Antonio poked an Ince cross just wide after the winger managed to slip past several defenders inside the box.

Forest did not have to wait long for their equaliser as half-time substitute Tesche fired a 25-yard volley into the top corner, just 14 minutes after replacing Henri Lansbury.

Harriott was then presented with a chance to restore Charlton's lead, but his shot from a tight angle was saved by Darlow.

Forest pushed for a winner in the final stages of the match, and they almost found one when Jamie Paterson's shot from distance narrowly cleared the crossbar, while Nick Pope had to be alert to stop Dexter Blackstock's header from sneaking in.

The pair then combined in the final few minutes, but Paterson volleyed inches wide of the right post as Stuart Pearce's side had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the Championship.
