Vennegoor of Hesselink retires from football

Former PSV Eindhoven and Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink has retired from professional football at the age of 33.

Hesselink began his career at Twente before joining PSV where he won three league titles.

He later moved to Glasgow with Celtic, where he lifted the Scottish Premier League trophy twice in a row before moving to Hull City and finally Rapid Vienna.

He scored three goals in 17 appearances for his country.
