Celtic to face UEFA charges

Celtic will face disciplinary proceedings from UEFA next month regarding "illicit chanting" during the side's Europa League clash against Rennes.

The Scottish side are due to attend a hearing with the governing body on December 8 to face a charge of unsporting nature from the club's supporters during their 3-1 win over Rennes on November 3.

The chanting is believed to have been about the IRA, which Celtic instantly condemned.

The former Scottish Premier League champions could face a fine along with a ban on supporters.
