Celta Vigo sign Newcastle United target Jose Naranjo

Celta Vigo have beaten Newcastle United to the signing of Gimnastic striker Jose Naranjo.

The 21-year-old, who is believed to have cost Celta £2m, was strongly linked with a move to Newcastle after scoring 15 times for Gimnastic in the Segunda Division last season.

It is understood that Naranjo was aware of interest from Newcastle and also Aston Villa, but opted to join Celta, who will play in the Europa League during the 2016-17 campaign.
