Report: Jefferson Montero close to Cardiff City move

Cardiff City are reportedly close to signing Morelia winger Jefferson Montero despite late interest from a number of European clubs.

The 23-year-old, who currently plays his football in Mexico, has previously played in Europe for Spanish trio Villarreal, Levante and Real Betis.

According to Sky Sports News, the Ecuador international, who has 30 caps for his country, is currently in the process of obtaining a visa ahead of a trip to Britain.

It is understood that the Welsh outfit hope to announce his capture before the end of the week.
