Mackay committed to Cardiff

Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has insisted that he is solely focused on preparing for the Welsh side's Premier League campaign next season, despite being linked with a switch to Everton.

The 41-year-old has been touted as a possible contender for the hotseat at the Merseyside club, who are in the hunt for a new boss following David Moyes's appointment at Manchester United.

"It's certainly very flattering to be linked to such a job like that but I've got something that we've built and we're really looking forward to coming into the Premier League," Sky Sports News quotes Mackay as saying.

"I've got an awful lot of hard work over the summer, concentrating on my job, as I'm doing at the moment."

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez, who guided his side to FA Cup glory on Saturday, is thought to be a leading candidate for the Everton position.
