Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan claims that fans protesting against his decision to alter the colour of the club's shirt are "ungrateful".

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has hit back at supporters who continue to complain about his decision to change the colour of the team's strip.

The Malaysian, who helped fund the club's promotion-winning campaign last season, sparked controversy when he changed its home shirt from blue to red.

Tan has expressed disappointment that the campaign against the move is yet to die down, and accused the fans involved of being ungrateful.

"I am surprised there are fans against the colour. I'm actually quite disappointed with that," The Sun quotes him as saying.

"I was willing to invest and put in a lot of money into the club that several times could have gone bust and had financial trouble and a big court case with the former owner.

"We spent £15m last season to buy players and we went up. That's how we got up. I'm disappointed that after 51 years of not being in the top flight that there are still some fans who don't think we have done a good job."

Tan has reportedly told Cardiff manager Malky Mackay that he has a £25m transfer war chest at his disposal to keep the club in the top flight.
