Half-Time Report: Steven Caulker hands Cardiff City advantage in Welsh capital

Steven Caulker hands Cardiff City the advantage at the halfway stage of their vital Premier League game against Fulham.

Steven Caulker's goal on the stroke of half time has given Cardiff City a 1-0 lead over Fulham in their crucial Premier League meeting.

A cagey start to the game from both sides was nearly ended when Fraizer Campbell beat a number of Fulham defenders to earn himself space before forcing Maarten Stekelenburg into a save.

Cardiff continued to make a steady improvement as the first half progressed, and Craig Noone wasn't far away from opening the scoring when he shot just wide of the target from the edge of the box.

A disappointing first half continued to frustrate both sets of supporters as a lack of quality in the final third of the pitch ensured chances were rare.

However, Cardiff claimed the lead just moments before the interval when Caulker turned in Noone's cross from close range after Fulham had failed to clear a corner.
