"I'm really happy to be joining on loan. I've been aware of the interest for a few weeks, so I'm glad it's done and I'm excited to get started," he told the club website.

"I spoke to the gaffer last week and he has played an important part in me joining. I've spoken to Raks, Deji and Sedds as well and they all have great things to say about the club.

"I'm looking forward to playing back in League One and my main aim is to play regular games, get goals and get assists for this club."

Manager Martin Paterson added: "He's someone that has played at very high levels. He comes here with a point to prove and we want to give him the platform to showcase his abilities – he's fully aware of the team's identities and what is required from a player that plays for Burton Albion Football Club."
