Andy Hinchcliffe: 'Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has big decision'

Former Sheffield Wednesday and England defender Andy Hinchcliffe claims that Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will have a tough decision on his hands if approached by Queens Park Rangers.

Former Sheffield Wednesday and England defender Andy Hinchcliffe has suggested that Burton Albion manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink will have a big decision to make if he is approached by Queens Park Rangers.

The Dutchman has been linked with taking charge at Loftus Road after leading the Brewers out of League Two last season, then taking them on to their current position in the League One playoffs in the club's first season at that level.

Hasselbaink has played down suggestions that he will depart the Pirelli Stadium, but Hinchcliffe believes that the QPR job would be tempting for the former Chelsea and Leeds United striker.

"I know he's talked about what a good experience it is and you can never have too much experience working in the lower leagues," Hinchcliffe told Sky Sports News.

"But the big clubs don't come in for you every five minutes and Jimmy is going to have to weigh it up. I'm sure in time he can become a Championship manager and maybe beyond that but how many QPRs will come along for him and when?

"I know that might be attractive to fans and owners but ultimately it's about the job that he can do and he's proved clearly that he's adept at moving a team forward quickly. Players like playing for him, he's got a good style and a good attitude."

Hasselbaink took charge of Burton in November 2014.
