Burnley tie down promising right-back Kieran Trippier with new contract

Trippier signs new Burnley deal

Kieran Trippier has signed a new three-year contract with Burnley.

The right-back, 23, was one of the Clarets' star players last season as they earned automatic promotion to the Premier League.

His previous deal was due to expire at the end of next season, but now he has committed until the end of the 2016-17 campaign.

Trippier played in 41 of Burnley's 46 league games in 2013-14, scoring one goal and contributing 14 assists.

He was also named in the Championship PFA Team of the Year.
