Burnley boss Eddie Howe keeps quiet over speculation linking Jay Rodriguez and Danny Fox to Southampton.

Burnley manager Eddie Howe has refrained from commenting on the status of Danny Fox and Jay Rodriguez after the pair were linked with moves to Southampton.

The Clarets were reportedly offered £4m from the newly-promoted Championship side for the services of Rodriguez, 22, and Fox, 25.

Despite the interest surrounding the duo, Howe has refused to rule them out of a move to St Mary’s.

"I don't know anything about it. It's not ideal,” Howe told the Lancashire Telegraph.

Both players started for the Clarets in the 2-2 draw with Watford in their opening Championship fixture on Saturday.
