Burnley boss Sean Dyche says that he told his players "how good they were" despite suffering a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has revealed that he had nothing but praise for his players after the club's 1-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

The Clarets succumbed to a controversial penalty won by Aaron Ramsey, leading to Dyche being critical of the decision after the final whistle at Turf Moor.

However, despite admitting that he was "raging" with the referee's decision, Dyche has acknowledged that he was delighted with the performance of his team against the Gunners.

The 46-year-old told reporters: "We more than gave them a game and deserved something so I was annoyed at something that goes against you, but not the performance of the players.

"It was a soft penalty, it was not a major hand on the back [of Aaron Ramsey], but the ball was nowhere near him. Our players came out quietly delighted with the performance because I told them how good they were."

Burnley will attempt to return to winning ways when they face Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Wednesday night.
