Sean Dyche: 'Ben Mee out for several weeks'

Burnley boss Sean Dyche reveals that centre-back Ben Mee is facing 'several weeks' on the sidelines with a shin problem.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has revealed that centre-back Ben Mee is facing 'several weeks' on the sidelines with a shin problem.

Mee was absent from Burnley's 2-1 win over Watford last weekend, but had been tipped to return to action against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

Dyche, however, has ruled the 28-year-old out of action for "a number of weeks".

"It could possibly be a number of weeks to let it settle down, which is a shame as he's had such a good season," Dyche told reporters.

"It's basically a deep bone bruise, which he has had before on the other shin, that cost him the last few games last season. It's a stress reaction at the bottom of his shin and ankle, so we will see."

Mee has appeared in 29 of Burnley's 32 Premier League matches during the 2017-18 campaign.
