Derek McInnes disappointed with draw

McInnes disappointed with draw

Bristol City manager Derek McInnes has revealed his disappointment at his side's draw with Ipswich Town.

Neil Danns had given the Robins the lead early on, before Tommy Smith's overhead kicked levelled the match for the hosts as the game ended 1-1 at Portman Road.

McInnes also believes that his side missed out on a penalty.

"The amount of chances we created and passed up, we're disappointed with only a draw," said McInnes. "I thought we were outstanding in the first half and carved out plenty of chances.

"We got caught from a set piece, losing the first header, but aside from that we were by far the best side. We just need to be clinical. We had two big penalty claims. We lost a penalty against Blackpool for less than the shouts we saw today. We're disappointed with that.

"Our away form is good and we need to replicate that at home now. We should take a lot of encouragement from today."

Bristol slip into the bottom three as a result of the draw.
