Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal puts his side's defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion down to soft errors.

Swansea City manager Carlos Carvalhal has attributed his side's 4-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion to soft mistakes.

The Portuguese coach said that his players made a series of errors they would not usually make during the Premier League showdown at the Amex.

"It was a game where we made some mistakes that usually we have not been making," Carvalhal told BBC Sport.

"The story is we tried to turn it around by putting more players into attack in the second half because we were losing and we wanted to win three points.

"We reacted well to their first goal. We took a player from midfield and put them up front, we knew that was a big risk. We'd either win the game or the opponent would score. We took those risks very early, in hindsight I'd have made the change with Tammy [Abraham] later. That's football though, it was a high-risk bet."

The result sees the Swans slide back into the relegation zone, occupying 18th place as one of three teams on 27 points.
