Gus Poyet praises his Brighton players for digging deep to earn a 2-1 win at Millwall on Saturday.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet has praised his side for digging deep to earn their 2-1 win at Millwall on Saturday.

Ashley Barnes and Adam El-Abd were both on the scoresheet to send the Seagulls to the top of the Championship table.

"We suffered. When you suffer you need to defend and you need everyone, including the goalkeeper," Poyet told reporters.

"I thought we looked a little bit tired at the end. That's the first time I've said that and it is nothing wrong. It's just that seven or eight players have been playing a lot."

Brighton's players will now have seven days' rest before they host Birmingham City next Saturday.
