Reading join £9m hunt for Scott Hogan?
A report claims that Scott Hogan could be the subject of a £9m bid by ambitious Championship club Reading - one of a number of sides now linked with the Brentford ace.

Reading are the latest side to have reportedly shown an interest in Brentford striker Scott Hogan, who is said to have been valued at £9m by the Championship club.

The Royals are one of a number of clubs to have been linked with the 24-year-old following an impressive year, which has seen him net 13 times in 22 appearances this term alone.

That fine run of form follows on the back of a strong end to the last campaign, too, when Hogan returned from a long-term knee injury layoff to show why he is so highly regarded by the West London outfit - scoring seven times in the same number of outings.

According to The Sun, ambitious Reading - soon to be backed by Chinese investors - could now make a big-money move for Hogan to bolster their promotion hopes, while West Bromwich Albion are still thought to be in the running for the Englishman.

Brentford boss Dean Smith claimed on Wednesday afternoon that he does not intend to let any of his key players leave Griffin Park in the New Year, but the club will likely sell should a bid close to eight figures be placed on the table.

Norwich City are the other side most strongly linked with Hogan, who joined Brentford from Rochdale United in 2014 for a sum of £750,000.
