Brentford are reportedly set to open contract talks with full-back Rico Henry, as the club looks to secure him to a long-term deal.

Brentford are ready to open contract talks with Rico Henry, according to a report.

The defender originally joined the club in 2016 when then-manager Dean Smith signed him from Walsall for £1.5m, and since that point he has been heavily involved in the first team.

Brentford are now preparing to begin talks with Henry over a new long-term deal, with the club hoping to secure his future, according to TEAMtalk.

The 24-year-old full-back was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year for the 2020-21 campaign, playing a pivotal role in the promotion campaign and his form has continued in the Premier League.

Henry has played in every single game this season under Thomas Frank, contributing two goals as Brentford have settled into the top flight.

The Bees have not had a midweek match after their scheduled game with Manchester United was postponed due to COVID-19, but they will be back in action on Saturday when they face Southampton.
