Brentford lineup vs. Sunderland: Predicted XI for Premier League clash as Yoane Wissa decision confirmed

Wissa latest, Ouattara chasing history: Predicted Brentford XI vs. Sunderland

Brentford boss Keith Andrews has confirmed that Yoane Wissa will not be involved in Saturday's Premier League showdown with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The DR Congo international is still doing his utmost to force a move to Newcastle United, but he has been training with the rest of the team again, and an exit is now looking increasingly unlikely ahead of Monday's deadline.

Nevertheless, Andrews will not welcome Wissa back into the matchday ranks despite his return to team training, so his replacement Dango Ouattara could make history instead.

The former Bournemouth attacker struck the winner in Brentford's 1-0 triumph over Aston Villa last weekend, and he is now aiming to become the first Bees player to score in both of their first two Premier League matches for the club.

Ouattara was one of several players demoted from the XI for the midweek EFL Cup win at Bournemouth, where Fabio Carvalho repaid Andrews's faith with a goal, but the Portuguese will be among those to make way.

Indeed, Ouattara, Mikkel Damsgaard and Igor Thiago should all return to join Kevin Schade in the attacking quartet, while Jordan Henderson and Yehor Yarmolyuk ought to reprise their midfield pairing.

Aside from Sepp van den Berg reprising his role, it will be all change in defence too, as Michael Kayode, Nathan Collins, Keane Lewis-Potter and Caoimhin Kelleher return to the pack.

Brentford possible starting lineup:

Kelleher; Kayode, Collins, Van den Berg, Lewis-Potter; Henderson, Yarmolyuk; Ouattara, Damsgaard, Schade; Thiago
