Lewis Macleod close to recovery after tripping over twig

Lewis Macleod injured tripping over twig

Brentford midfielder Lewis Macleod is close to recovering from a hamstring injury despite suffering a setback when he fell over a twig.

Macleod joined Brentford from Rangers in January, for a fee believed to be around £1m, but has not yet made his debut for the club.

"He's working with the medical team. He came with an injury and he had a setback in the first couple of weeks," Brentford manager Mark Warburton told Get West London.

"He literally fell over a twig on the training ground and it set him back a couple of weeks. He's a real talent."

The 20-year-old did not feature in Brentford's 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday but may make his debut in next week's Championship tie against Cardiff City.
