Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

Man City injury, suspension list vs. Brentford

Premier League champions Manchester City travel to West London to face Brentford in their final top-flight fixture of the season on Sunday.

Three days after lifting the Premier League trophy at the Etihad Stadium following a 1-0 win over Chelsea, the Citizens saw their 12-game winning league run come to end after playing out a 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola will be keen for his treble-chasing side to return to winning ways before preparing for two huge finals in the FA Cup and Champions League next month.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Man City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest with Thomas Frank's side, who beat the Citizens 2-1 at the Etihad earlier this season.

Nathan Ake

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: May 28 (vs. Brentford)

Nathan Ake has missed the last five games in all competitions with a hamstring injury, and the defender is unlikely to be risked on Sunday with one eye on the two finals next month.

Phil Foden

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Leg Possible return date: May 28 (vs. Brentford)

Phil Foden, who scored in the draw with Brighton, came off early in the second half after sustaining a knock to his leg, but Guardiola has reassured supporters by claiming after the match that he 'feels comfortable'.

John Stones

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Muscle Possible return date: May 28 (vs. Brentford)

John Stones was also taken off in the second half of the draw with Brighton, with Guardiola citing that the defender "felt tight". However, the City boss said that Stones, like Foden, 'feels comfortable', suggesting that the issue is not a serious one.

Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, Manuel Akanji

Status: All minor doubts Type of injury: Unspecified Possible return date: May 28 (vs. Brentford)

Guardiola revealed prior to kickoff on Wednesday that Jack Grealish, Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji and Aymeric Laporte, who were all in the matchday squad against Chelsea last Sunday, were "not fit" to travel to the Amex Stadium due to injury, and it remains to be seen whether any of the quartet will feature against Brentford.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Manchester City have no suspended players for this match.
