Fernando Torres: 'Spain, Brazil favourites for World Cup'

Spain forward Fernando Torres picks out La Roja and hosts Brazil as the two favourites for this summer's World Cup.

Spain forward Fernando Torres has claimed that La Roja and hosts Brazil are the two favourites to win the World Cup this summer.

As holders, Spain will enter as one of the favourites to triumph, but no European team has ever won the World Cup on South American soil.

Torres, 30, has claimed that could end this summer, but the striker also believes that Brazil will be tough opposition.

"For me, we are still the favourites to win the World Cup, but in a big tournament the hosts are normally favourites as well," he told reporters.

"The fact they will be playing at home and have a great squad means they will be just as strong. If we win the World Cup we will definitely have earned it."

Spain are the current European and world champions.
