Bournemouth have reportedly come to an agreement with Lille over a deal for Bafode Diakite, with the 24-year-old set to make a big-money switch to the Cherries in the coming days.
There has been a host of speculation surrounding the centre-back's future this summer, with a number of clubs believed to be interested in securing his signature.
However, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Bournemouth have won the race, with the Cherries agreeing a package worth €35m (£30.3m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons.
The purchase will be the second-highest in Bournemouth's history behind Evanilson, who cost the Premier League club just over £40m when he joined from Porto in the summer of 2024.
Diakite started his professional career with Toulouse before moving to Lille in 2022, and he has represented his current side on 110 occasions in all competitions.
Last season, the 24-year-old made 48 appearances for his French club, scoring four goals and registering one assist, and he played 10 times in the Champions League during the 2024-25 campaign.
Forest 'preparing offer' for Ipswich's Davis
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are reportedly preparing an offer for Ipswich Town's Leif Davis.
There is believed to have been Premier League interest in the 25-year-old this summer, but Ipswich have thus far resisted the attention of a number of clubs.
According to talkSPORT, Forest are now planning to make a bid for Davis, who has made 124 appearances for Ipswich since joining the club from Leeds United in the summer of 2022.
Davis made 33 appearances for Ipswich in the Premier League last season, but he was unable to prevent the club from being relegated from the Premier League.
The defender played the full 90 minutes of Ipswich's Championship game against Birmingham City on Friday night, but there is still believed to be a strong chance that he will leave before the end of the transfer market.
Galatasaray 'planning bid' for Barcelona goalkeeper Pena
Elsewhere, Galatasaray are reportedly preparing an offer for Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena.
There are three first-team goalkeepers ahead of Pena at Camp Nou, and the 26-year-old is set to leave the Catalan giants during this summer's transfer window in search of regular action.
Como are keen on a deal for Pena, with their interest being confirmed by the Italian club's head coach Cesc Fabregas.
“I don’t like to talk about the market, but if there’s an opportunity, we’ll see it, we’ll analyse it. I hope any new big players can fit into our dynamic, be competitive in the squad,” Fabregas said when asked about Pena.
“All great players are welcome at Como, especially those who can understand my ideas well, helping with playing the ball out from defence, being dominant in possession. You need players who feel it.”
However, according to Sempre Barca, Galatasaray are keen on signing the goalkeeper this summer.
The report claims that the Turkish side are prepared to pay in the region of €8m (£7m) for Pena, who has less than 12 months left to run on his current deal.
Barcelona would allegedly be looking for a buy-back clause and a future sell-on clause to be included in the agreement.
