Preview: Birmingham City vs. Bournemouth

Birmingham vs. Bournemouth

Bournemouth will be hoping to extend their winning run to four matches when they travel to St Andrew's to face strugglers Birmingham City in the Championship on Saturday.

Eddie Howe's side are up to eighth in the table following their recent run of form, which included a 3-0 win over Reading earlier this week.

Callum Wilson continued his strong form in front of goal, netting his eighth league goal of the season, and ninth in all competitions, to leave him just one behind the Championship's joint-top scorers Chris Martin and Britt Assombalonga.

The club have reported no new injuries following the win over the Royals, so the manager could name an unchanged side for this weekend's clash.

Meanwhile, Birmingham head into this match just one place above the relegation zone and without a manager after sacking Lee Clark on Monday.

The Blues lost their first outing without Clark, suffering a 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, with only goal difference now keeping them out of the bottom three.

Defender Neal Eardley will be missing for Saturday's match after he was sent off against Blackburn having committed two bookable offenses.

There are no other injury issues or suspensions for the hosts, who can climb as high as 18th if they can end their three-match run without a win.

Both sides lost their home matches when they faced each other last season.
